KASPAR LEONZ ,M.D. born Febr.15,1851 died Jan.5,1907 son of Karl Joseph and Maria Josepha born Heer. His father died when he was only one year old.He went to school in Baden and then was externe in Einsiedeln where he finished the humanistic Gymnasium with the Matura. First he intendet to study Theology but then went to Mecical School in Zuerich and Wuerzburg. After his stateboard he was assistant in Muensterlingen(Psychiatry) where he met his later wife, Rosa Specker, who was an attendant there.Then he became Kurarzt in Grindelwald. After the marriage he opened a praxis in Ennetbaden but moved later to Baden first in architect Dorer’s house and then built his own, when the former Verenahof Depandance became the Doctorshouse. He than was the doctor for the Blume,Verenahof an Ochsen and had a good and large general praxis for almost 25 years. However, when Dr. Jann, who married a Borsinger girl, moved into town, things changed and he became progressively psychotic and finally had to be committed to Muensterlingen where he developed stomach troubles. When he died he weighted only 79 lbs and the autopsy revealed “tubercles in the stomach”(may be Ca?).The doctorshouse in the “Baedern” (bath) in earlier times accommodated the Conditorei (pastryshop) Schnebeli, now it’s called Konditorei Vogelsang. The family of Dr.Kaspar Borsinger lived there for 30 years and today one still can see the Borsinger Crest on top of the doorway. Children: |
